What affects the widespread use of titanium fittings?

Mar 18, 2024

At present, the manufacturing process of titanium pipe fittings on the market has basically matured, but the use of titanium tubes has been subject to cost constraints, especially for thin-walled tubes, tubes of higher strength, longer tubes and other specific requirements of the pipe fittings, titanium seamless tubes are more difficult to produce, equipment complexity, cycle time is long, and the rate of finished products is low. Therefore, titanium welded pipe fittings came into being.

Titanium tubing is not corrosion-free in the environment. Titanium tubing manufacturers have found that pure titanium condenser tubes have serious corrosion perforations and edge ruptures on both the inner and outer surfaces after 15 years. In addition, in the process of titanium tube assembly and application, it is often necessary to bend, weld, end processing and other processing of the tube. Due to the high flexure-elasticity ratio of titanium pipe fittings, the rebound is obvious when bending, and the excessive rebound leads to difficult control of pipe geometry and precision.

Tube processing, channel deformation significantly affect the performance of the pipe. Large deformation can not only improve the production efficiency and purpose can be better broken coarse casting state organization, so that the pipe grain is fine and uniform, but too large to make the pipe forming resistance increases, the heat of deformation leads to local temperature rise, so that the deformation is not uniform, the grain grows abnormally. Reasonable amount of deformation can be formed in the radial, axial and annular direction of the pipe weaving structure, thus improving the performance.
