Tool steel grade expression method
Tool steel is divided into carbon tool steel, alloy tool steel and high-speed tool steel three categories.
--Carbon tool steel using standard chemical element symbols
No., the prescribed symbols and Arabic numerals. The Arabic numerals indicate the average carbon content (in parts per thousand).
a, ordinary manganese-containing carbon tool steel, in the tool steel symbol "T" after the Arabic numerals.
For example, a carbon tool steel with an average carbon content of 0.80% is designated as "T 8".
b, higher manganese content of carbon tool steel, in the tool steel symbol "T" and the Arabic numerals after the manganese element symbol. For example: "T8Mn".

c, high-grade quality carbon tool steel, in the end of the grade plus "A". For example: "T8MnA".
--Alloy tool steel and high-speed tool steel
Alloy tool steel, high-speed tool steel grade numbering method and alloy structural steel grade numbering method is the same.
Standard alloy element symbols and Arabic numerals, but generally do not indicate the average carbon content figures, for example: the average carbon content of 1.60%, containing chromium, molybdenum, vanadium content of 11.75%, 0.50%, 0.22% of the alloy tool steel, the grade said "Cr12MoV"; average carbon content of 0.85%. Carbon content of 0.85%, containing tungsten, molybdenum, chromium, vanadium content of 6.00%, 5.00%, 4.00%, 2.00% of the high-speed tool steel, the grade is expressed as "W6Mo5Cr4V 2".
If the average carbon content is less than 1.00%, an Arabic numeral can be used to indicate the carbon content (in parts per thousand). For example, an alloy tool steel with an average carbon content of 0.80%, a manganese content of 0.95% and a silicon content of 0.45% is designated as "8MnSi". Low chromium (average chromium content < 1.00%) alloy tool steel, in the chromium content (in thousands) before the number "0". For example: the average chromium content of 0.60% of the alloy tool steel, the grade is expressed as "Cr 06".
Plastic mold steel grade representation
Plastic mold steel grade in addition to the head of the symbol "SM", the rest of the representation and high-quality carbon structural steel and alloy tool steel grade representation of the same method. For example: the average carbon content of 0.45% of the carbon plastic mold steel, the number is expressed as "SM 45"; the average carbon content of 0.34%, chromium content of 1.70%, molybdenum content of 0.42% of the alloy plastic mold steel, the number is expressed as "SM3Cr2Mo ".
Bearing steel grade representation
Bearing steel is divided into four categories: high-carbon chromium bearing steel, carburized bearing steel, high-carbon chromium stainless bearing steel and high-temperature bearing steel.
--High-carbon chromium bearing steel, add the symbol "G" to the head of the grade, but do not indicate the carbon content. Chromium content in parts per thousand, other alloying elements according to the alloy content of alloy structural steel indicated. For example: the average chromium content of 1□50% of the bearing steel, its grade is expressed as "GCr 15".
--Carburized bearing steel, the use of alloy structural steel grade expression, and another in the head of the grade plus the symbol "G". For example: "G20 CrNiMo". High-quality carburized bearing steel, add "A" to the end of the grade number. For example: "G20CrNiMoA".
--High-carbon chromium stainless bearing steel and high-temperature bearing steel, using stainless steel and heat-resistant steel grade expression method, the sign is not added to the head of the grade "G". Example: High-carbon chromium stainless bearing steel "9Cr 18" and high-temperature bearing steel "10Cr14Mo".
