Oct 22, 2025

Product Description

Name: titanium plate / titanium sheet / titanium block. Density: 4.51 g/cm3. Standards: ASTM B265, ASME SB265, JIS H4600, GB/T 3621, AMS 4911, AMS 4919, ASTM F67, ASTM F136. Manufacturing methods: hot rolling and cold rolling. Annealing temperature: 700-785 deg C. Surface: bright, polished, pickling, acid cleaning, sandblasting.

Production Route: Hot Rolling and Cold Rolling

Gr12 titanium sheet starts as a rolled slab that is first hot rolled above the recrystallization range to break down the cast structure and reach an intermediate thickness. The material is then cold rolled to the final gauge where tight thickness tolerances and a smooth surface are required, with intermediate annealing at 700-785 deg C to restore ductility between passes. Cold-rolled sheet offers better surface quality and dimensional accuracy than hot-rolled plate, while hot-rolled product is the economical choice for thicker gauges. After rolling, the sheet is leveled, cut to length, and finished to the agreed surface condition.

Sizes

T 0.1-2.0 mm x W 1250 mm x L 3000 mm max; T 3.0-5.0 mm x W 1500 mm x L 7000 mm max; T 6.0-60 mm x W 2500 mm max x L 7000 mm max. Within these envelope dimensions, sheets and plates can be cut to the specific width and length of the order, and the thickness tolerance follows the applicable standard. Buyers should confirm the required gauge, finish, and edge condition with the supplier so that the delivered material matches the fabrication plan.

Grade 12 is a commercially alloyed titanium grade, often written as Ti-0.3Mo-0.8Ni or UNS R53400. The deliberate additions of molybdenum and nickel distinguish it from the commercially pure grades and give it a measurable advantage in corrosive service.

Corrosion Resistance and Mechanical Features

1. Low density and high strength. 2. Excellent corrosion resistance. 3. Good resistance to the effect of heat. 4. Good mechanical properties. 5. High modulus of elasticity. 6. Harmless and environment friendly. 7. Excellent bearing at cryogenic temperature. 8. Nonmagnetic and non-toxic. 9. Good thermal properties. Thanks to the molybdenum and nickel content, grade 12 resists attack in reducing and hot chloride environments much better than commercially pure titanium, which is why it is specified for heat exchangers, piping, and vessel linings in aggressive chemical service. The alloy also keeps useful toughness at low temperature, which extends its range to cryogenic equipment.

Applications

Petroleum, metallurgy, chemical, pharmacy, marine engineering, racing car, motorcycle, bicycle, yacht, outdoor camping and sports equipment, medical industry, aerospace, aviation, airplane, and military applications. In the chemical and petroleum industries the sheet is fabricated into tanks, heat exchanger parts, and ducting that must survive corrosive media for long periods; in marine engineering it is chosen for components exposed to seawater; and in sporting and medical products its combination of light weight, biocompatibility, and corrosion resistance is the main advantage. Because fabrication methods are similar to those used for other titanium grades, the material can be sheared, formed, welded, and machined with standard titanium practice.
