What is Ferro Tungsten?

1. Ferro-tungsten is an iron-tungsten alloy with tungsten content in the range of 70.0%~85.0%.
Ferro-tungsten belongs to the series of ferroalloys, is an alloy composed of tungsten and iron, used as an alloy additive for steelmaking. Commonly used ferro-tungsten has 70% and 80% tungsten. Ferrotungsten smelting with electric furnace, due to the high melting point, can not be released in liquid form, so the agglomeration method or take the iron method of production. 1930s before the general use of small (100 ~ 500 kVA) single-phase electric arc furnace for agglomeration method of smelting, and later changed to three-phase electric furnace, and the development of the iron method.
