Niobium's content in the earth's crust is 0.002%, and the main minerals are columbite, pyrochlore, black spartite, brown yttrium niobium, tantalite and titanium-niobium-calcium cerussite. According to the data released by the U.S. Geological Survey in 2014, the global niobium resources reserves of more than 4.3 million tons, and the distribution is relatively concentrated, and only one country niobium resources reserves in Brazil accounted for about 95% of the global total reserves.
Regional distribution
In terms of regional distribution, the discovered niobium deposits are mainly located in North America, South America and Africa, and most of the niobium resources are concentrated in a dozen large deposits in the world.
National distribution
According to the data released by the U.S. Geological Survey in 2014, Brazil's niobium ore reserves ranked first in the world, with about 4.1 million tons, followed by Canada, with about 200,000 tons. In addition, Australia, China, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Russia, the United States, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Kenya and other countries also have distribution.
