Cemented Tungsten Carbide Rod
Cemented carbide rods, or tungsten carbide round rods, are also called tungsten steel rods, which simply means tungsten steel round rods or tungsten carbide round rods. Cemented carbide is a composite material consisting of a refractory metal compound (hard phase) and a bonded metal (bonded phase) produced by powder metallurgy. Cemented carbide is also known as tungsten steel.
Description
Cemented carbide (WC) is an inorganic compound containing equal parts of tungsten and carbon atoms. In its most basic form, it is a subtle gray powder, but it can be used in industrial machinery, tools, and abrasives, as well as forming the shapes used. Cemented Carbide contains three times as much carbon as steel and has a denser crystal structure than steel or titanium. Its hardness is comparable to that of diamond, and it can only be polished into Cemented Carbide, using Cubic Boron Nitride abrasives.
