Molybdenum is a metal element, lead-gray, metallic luster, belongs to the hexagonal crystal system. 4.7 ~ 4.8, hard specific gravity of 1 ~ 1.5 , melting point of 795 ℃, heated to 400 ~ 500 ℃ when it is easy to oxidize and generate, nitric acid and aqua regia can make molybdenum pyroxene () decomposition. Molybdenum has the advantages of high strength, high melting point, corrosion resistance, wear-resistant research, and so on, so it has been widely utilized in industry.

China's molybdenum beneficiation has a history of half a century, molybdenum beneficiation plant from the old China's only Yangjiazhuangzi molybdenum beneficiation plant to the present more than 50 molybdenum beneficiation plant, copper molybdenum beneficiation plant, tungsten molybdenum beneficiation plant and molybdenum and bismuth beneficiation plant to produce molybdenum concentrates. The gap between molybdenum ore beneficiation technology and that of advanced foreign countries has become smaller and smaller.
