Molybdenum as a base to add other elements and the composition of the non-ferrous alloy. The main alloying elements are titanium, zirconium, hafnium, tungsten and rare earth elements. Titanium, zirconium, Hafnium element not only solid solution strengthening of molybdenum alloy, to maintain the low-temperature plasticity of the alloy, but also the formation of stable, diffuse distribution of carbide phase, improve the strength and recrystallization temperature of the alloy. Molybdenum alloy has good thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity and low coefficient of expansion, high strength at high temperature (1100 ~ 1650 ℃), than tungsten easy to process. It can be used as the grid and anode of electronic tube, the support material of electric light source, and used to make die-casting and extrusion molds, spacecraft parts and so on. Due to the molybdenum alloy has low temperature brittleness and welding brittleness, and high temperature easy to oxidize, so its development is limited. Industrial production of molybdenum alloys have molybdenum-titanium-zirconium, molybdenum-tungsten and molybdenum-rare earth alloys, the application of more is the first category. Molybdenum alloys are mainly strengthened by solid solution strengthening, precipitation strengthening and work hardening. Through plastic processing can be produced molybdenum alloy plates, strips, foils, tubes, bars, wires and profiles, but also to improve its strength and improve the low temperature plasticity.
