What is GR2 titanium material?
GR2 titanium (3.7035 / UNS R50400) is the king of industrial applications due to its varied usability and wide availability. It shares many equal qualities with grade 1, however but its stronger to some extent. Both classes are equally immune to corrosion.
TiGr2 shows good weldability and strength, stands out with a low specific weight at favorable mechanical properties such as ductility and formability.
Shows excellent cold formability and a high corrosion resistance to reducing and oxidizing media and brine. It is prominent in constant working operations, where temperatures reach up to 800°F (425°C) as well as in intermittent working conditions where temperatures reach up to 1000°F (540°C). It can be welded, cold- and hot- machined also cast.
Titanium grade 2 makes bars, sheets, pipes and is a primary choice used as a building material for submarine pipelines, reactors or heat exchangers used in petrochemical, mining (gas and oil), power generation or telecom industries.
