Molybdenum-99 is one of the radioisotopes of molybdenum that is used in hospitals to prepare technetium-99.Technetium-99 is a radioisotope that is taken by the patient to be used for internal organ imaging. Molybdenum-99 used for this purpose is usually absorbed with aluminum oxide powder and stored in relatively small containers, and when molybdenum-99 decays it produces technetium-99, which can be removed from the container and distributed to the patient when needed .
