Titanium Grade 2 Alloy and Ti Gr5 Alloy
Jan 15, 2026
Titanium alloys are mixtures of titanium with other elements. Different grades of titanium alloys are suitable for different applications. Grade 2 titanium alloy, also known as pure titanium, is commercially pure titanium with a titanium content of 99% and an oxygen content at standard values. It is relatively expensive and mainly used in pure titanium applications in the chemical industry. Grade 5 titanium alloy is the most commonly used of all titanium alloys. Its composition includes aluminum, vanadium, iron, and oxygen. Grade 5 titanium alloy is used for high-strength, high-wear applications such as blades, fasteners, containers, shells, rings, and discs. Grade 2 pure titanium UNS R50400 is a specification of commercial pure titanium used in heat exchangers, condenser tubes, and certain specific applications in the oil and gas industry. The specification for Grade 5 titanium alloy is Ti-6Al-4V Eli. It has high corrosion resistance and heat treatability. Grade 2 titanium alloy has extremely high corrosion resistance, which is unmatched by most metal alloys. Grade 2 titanium alloy (compliant with ASTM B348 standard) has excellent cold forming properties and moderate strength, while Ti-6Al-4V Eli titanium alloy has higher strength. Grade 5 titanium alloy (3.7165) is widely used in aerospace and other applications requiring high strength and heat resistance. Our 6Al-4V titanium alloy is highly competitively priced; please contact us for a quote.
