Titanium is chemically active and reacts strongly with O, N, H, CO, CO2, water vapor, ammonia, etc. in the atmosphere. When the carbon content is greater than 0.2%, hard TiC will be formed in the titanium alloy; when the temperature is higher, the role of N will also form a hard surface layer of TiN;
At 600 ℃ or more, titanium absorbs oxygen to form a very hard hardened layer; hydrogen content rises, will also form a brittle layer. Absorption of gas and the resulting hard brittle surface layer depth of up to 0.1 ~ 0.15 mm, the degree of hardening for 20% to 30%. Titanium also has a high chemical affinity and is prone to adhesion with friction surfaces.

3. good corrosion resistance, titanium alloy in the humid atmosphere and seawater media work, its corrosion resistance is far better than stainless steel, alkali, chloride, chlorine organic substances, nitric acid, sulfuric acid, etc. has excellent corrosion resistance.
4. Good low-temperature performance, titanium alloy in low temperature and ultra-low temperature, can still maintain its mechanical properties, good low-temperature performance.
5. Longer life, lightning rods have the above advantages than ordinary lightning rods longer life.
6. Simple installation, installation based on instructions or drawings fixed, special design installation is simple.
Use of lightning rods
Oil derrick lightning rod installation, the main design items are: lightning rods, stainless steel struts, lead wires, grounding rods, grounding connectors (can be a class of items with the lead wires), lightning rods need to be fixed in the oil derrick on the relative high point.
The lightning rod is assembled with the stainless steel strut, and the lead wire is fixed by the copper nose and the bolt on the lightning rod strut. The flange at the bottom of the lightning rod is fixed to the top of the derrick somewhere in the top corner of the derrick, where people do not move around often.
The insulated lead wires run down through the equipment from the bottom of the stubs, and are secured at the edge of the equipment with ties at the edge of the equipment, where there is little movement of personnel.
After the insulated lead wire passes down through the equipment, it is introduced into the bottom of the equipment to connect the lead wire and the grounding connection wire.
