Can hydraulic titanium welded pipe be used at low temperatures?
Mar 21, 2024
Titanium, a rare metallic element, has properties that go far beyond what we see - power generation equipment, and in particular its low heat cycle temperatures, provide an ideal scenario for titanium's use. It is possible to develop a new type of titanium tube for use at higher temperatures. It offers greater potential for metal savings and increased efficiency than the high-strength, low-temperature titanium tubes that have been developed. A future goal is to develop a titanium tube that can be used at temperatures up to 650's °C Compared to commonly used base turntables, this alloy can be used in high-pressure turbine turntables with a 20% weight reduction.
With higher operating temperatures come additional new problems such as surface oxidation, stability in long-term mass metallurgical production, frictional corrosion, fire hazards and hot salt intergranular corrosion. Some of these problems can be solved by surface coatings or surface treatments, so research in this area is currently active.

Titanium tubes are produced in automatic continuous production lines through cold bending, welding, on-line heat treatment, diameter straightening, non-destructive testing, and gas tightness testing. With the rapid development of the Titanium I industry and the increasing improvement of the welding process, the production efficiency of titanium tubes will be greatly improved with greater quality stability, consistency and productivity. The length required for cutting can be determined according to customer requirements.
Titanium tubes are generally produced by rolling or pulling an art. A large amount of rolling oil and drawing oil will be used in the production process, seriously polluting the production site. After rolling and drawing of titanium tubes, the grease and stains on the internal and external surfaces of the goods must be degreased and pickled, and the pickling process will cause great pollution to the environment.
In order to ensure the health of operators and environmental protection, should increase the protective equipment and measures, and then increase the capital investment, and accordingly increase the production cost of goods. Titanium tubes continue to be mass produced through automated production lines with stable quality and high production efficiency. During the production process, the environment is basically free of pollution except for some water, electricity and other energy consumption.
