Description
GNEE presses and sinter high quality tungsten high alloy (WHA) rods, which are then further forged by Elmet to produce rods with ultimate tensile strengths in excess of 180 ksi (1240 MPa) and elongation in excess of 5 percent. elmet also precision machines WHA rods for use as ballast blocks, radiation shielding, boring rods, ordnance components, and other parts that require high densities and good ductility.

The liquid phase sintering process produces high density tungsten (also known as "high density") alloy rods. The rods are made from 85-99% pure tungsten. In addition to their extremely high density (16.5 g/cc to 19.0 g/cc), high specific gravity tungsten alloy rods are favored for their superior strength, lower thermal expansion and easier machinability than pure tungsten rods.
