Tantalum-tungsten Alloy Production Process
Mar 11, 2024
Tantalum-tungsten alloy (TaW alloy), currently commonly used grades are Ta10W and Ta2.5W. Tantalum-tungsten alloy is a kind of high-density material, which is characterized by high melting point, high tensile strength, good dynamic ductility and corrosion resistance. Tantalum-tungsten alloy has far-reaching application prospects in the fields of chemical anti-corrosion, machinery, aerospace and military industry.
1 powder mixing
Weigh the ultra-fine tantalum powder and tungsten powder according to the required proportion and mix them, place the mixed powder in the roller mixer and mix it evenly to get the mixed powder;

2 Molding
Load the fine powder into the grinding tool and press molding:;
3Sintering
Put the alloy bar into the vacuum sintering furnace, vacuum heating and sintering to get coarse ingot billet;
4Smelting
The rough ingot is melted into alloy ingot by vacuum electron beam furnace or vacuum electric arc furnace for several times;
5 Finished ingot performance improvement
Put the alloy ingot billet into high-frequency furnace, after heating and forging for many times, and process the surface oxidized skin to get the finished ingot;
According to the size and weight of the profile, the material, forging and open billet;
Rolling or forging for many times, after many vacuum annealing to get rods or plates, after machining, grinding to get the good performance of tantalum tungsten alloy finished plates and bars.
