Description
Tantalum tape is a dark blue-gray Tantalum metal that is very heavy, ductile, hard, and highly resistant to corrosion. Tantalum is particularly resistant to chemicals at temperatures below 150 °C and can only be dissolved with hydrofluoric acid. Tantalum tapes have the fourth highest melting point of all metals and form an extremely thin protective oxide layer for high-quality capacitors, making them an excellent material for tapes. Tantalum tapes absorb hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen from the atmosphere, making them particularly suitable for vacuum applications in the lighting industry.
