Description
Characteristics of GR1 titanium foil for high pitch film
(1) Thermal strength is several times higher than aluminium alloy, and it can still maintain the required strength at medium temperature temperature, and it can work for a long period of time at 450~500°C. These two types of titanium alloys still have high specific strength when working within the range of 150°C~500°C, while aluminium alloys have a significantly lower specific strength when working at 150°C. Titanium alloy working temperature up to 500 ℃, aluminium alloy working temperature below 200 ℃.
(2) good corrosion resistance titanium alloy in the humid atmosphere and seawater media work, its corrosion resistance is far better than stainless steel; point corrosion, acid corrosion, stress corrosion resistance is extremely strong; resistance to alkali, chlorides, chlorine, organics, nitric acid, sulphuric acid and so on. However, titanium has poor corrosion resistance to reducing oxygen and chromium salt media.

Applications of TA1 (GR1) titanium alloy
TA1 (GR1) titanium alloy foil is widely used in aerospace, chemical, and medical device industries. In aerospace, it is often used to manufacture aircraft structural components, engine parts, and aircraft components because its lightweight and corrosion-resistant properties meet the requirements of aircraft. In the chemical industry, it is often used to manufacture corrosion-resistant equipment such as reactors, storage tanks, and heat exchangers. In the medical device industry, it is often used to manufacture artificial joints and dental implants. Because TA1 (GR1) titanium alloy foil has good biocompatibility and can be well-integrated with human tissue, it has broad application prospects in the medical field.

FAQ
What is GR1 Titanium?
GR1 (Grade 1) is commercially pure, unalloyed titanium with a minimum titanium content of 99.5%. It is the most ductile and corrosion-resistant grade among pure titanium alloys, making it ideal for applications where forming and corrosion resistance are critical.
Can GR1 titanium be welded?
Yes, GR1 has excellent weldability. Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG) with high-purity argon shielding is the standard method. Proper cleaning and shielding are essential to prevent oxidation and maintain corrosion resistance.
Does GR1 titanium work harden?
Yes, like most pure metals, GR1 can work-harden during cold forming or machining. Intermediate annealing may be required for severe deformation operations to restore ductility and prevent cracking.
Can GR1 be heat-treated for higher strength?
No, GR1 is a non-heat-treatable alloy. Its strength is derived from cold working. Annealing is the only thermal process used to relieve stresses and soften the material after cold working.
Is GR1 titanium suitable for medical implants?
Yes, GR1 is widely used for permanent and temporary medical implants (e.g., bone plates, screws, cranial meshes) due to its excellent biocompatibility, corrosion resistance in bodily fluids, and non-toxic nature.
How does GR1 compare to GR2 titanium?
GR1 has lower strength but higher ductility and corrosion resistance than GR2. GR2 is more widely used for general-purpose applications, while GR1 is chosen for the most demanding corrosive environments or where severe forming is required.
