Description
The corrosion resistance of Ti-6Al-4V alloy titanium strip is an important factor in its wide range of applications, especially in corrosive environments (e.g., marine, acidic environments, chemical equipment). Corrosion resistance is due to the naturally occurring protective film of dense oxides (TiO₂) on the surface of titanium, which effectively resists the attack of many acids, alkalis and salts.

Ti-6Al-4V titanium metal foils often require specific heat treatments during production and processing to optimize their mechanical properties. Typical heat treatment process parameters are listed below:
Annealing: usually carried out in the temperature range of 730-850°C. The annealing treatment reduces residual stresses and improves the ductility and toughness of the material.
Hardening and aging: Hardening in the beta-phase region at 955-1010°C, followed by aging at 480-650°C, can substantially increase strength and hardness.
Machinability and formability: The formability of Ti-6Al-4V is low compared to other titanium alloys, and requires machining at appropriate temperatures. Hot working between 500-700°C usually improves plasticity and reduces the effects of work hardening.
