Titanium Foil Coil Grade 2

Titanium Foil Coil Grade 2

Titanium is a new metal. Due to its excellent properties, it is widely used in aviation, aerospace, chemical industry, petroleum, metallurgy, light industry, electricity, seawater desalination, ships and daily life appliances. It is known as the modern metal.

Description

Titanium Foil Coil Grade 2 has a minimum yield strength of 335 MPa, and Grade 2 titanium strip has a minimum tensile strength of 510 MPa. This material is available in cold-rolled or hot-rolled condition. Sheets and plates are also used in electroplating, gaskets, medical devices, and medical implants. UNS R50400 hot-rolled titanium foil is also used in applications such as evaporators, reaction vessels, desalination equipment, and tubular heaters. For more information on this commercially pure Grade 2 cold-rolled titanium foil and other forms of the product, including pricing, please contact us.

Grade 2 Titanium Hot Rolled foil Applications

Ti Gr2 is used in the aerospace industry for aircraft components, rocket engines, spacecraft bodies, and other components due to its lightweight and strength. In the chemical industry, its corrosion resistance makes it suitable for pipelines, reactors, and other equipment. Within the maritime sector, its resistance to seawater corrosion makes it suitable for ship components, surface equipment, and other parts. For medical implants, Ti Gr2's biocompatible properties make it suitable for various applications including bone plates, dental implants, and prosthetics.

FAQ

Q: Can GR1 Titanium be heat-treated to increase its strength?
A: No, GR1 is a non-heat-treatable alloy. Its strength can only be moderately increased through cold working (work hardening). The primary thermal process is annealing to relieve stresses and restore ductility.
Q: What is the maximum continuous service temperature for GR1 Titanium?
A: GR1 is generally suitable for continuous service up to approximately 250°C (480°F) in non-stressed or lightly stressed applications. Above this, oxidation and potential embrittlement become concerns.
Q: Is GR1 Titanium magnetic?
A: No, GR1 Titanium is paramagnetic, meaning it has a very weak magnetic susceptibility and is effectively non-magnetic. This is beneficial for applications in MRI or other sensitive electronic environments.
Q: Is GR1 Titanium resistant to seawater corrosion?
A: Yes, it offers exceptional resistance to seawater and chloride-containing environments, making it a prime choice for marine, offshore, and desalination applications. Its performance is superior to most stainless steels in these conditions.
Q: Can GR1 Titanium handle sulfuric or hydrochloric acid?
A: Generally, no. GR1 has excellent resistance to oxidizing acids (like nitric acid) but poor resistance to reducing acids (like sulfuric and hydrochloric) unless they are highly diluted or contain specific oxidizing inhibitors. Always consult corrosion tables for specific media.
Q: Does GR1 Titanium experience galvanic corrosion when joined to other metals?
A: Yes, it can. Titanium is cathodic (noble) to most common metals. Direct contact in an electrolyte (like seawater) can accelerate corrosion of the less noble metal (e.g., aluminum, steel). Insulation (gaskets, coatings) is required to prevent this.

About Us

We are a green, intelligent modern titanium factory. The entire production system is designed based on Industry 4.0 principles, enabling full digital traceability from order to finished product through an MES system. We employ energy-saving vacuum arc furnaces and waste heat recovery rolling processes to significantly reduce energy consumption. Cooling water recycling efficiency exceeds 95%, and acid mist is centrally treated and discharged in compliance with international environmental standards.
