TC4 — Ti-6Al-4V, the Chinese designation of the world's most widely used titanium alloy, equivalent to Grade 5 (UNS R56400) — is an α+β titanium alloy combining high strength, good toughness, weldability and corrosion resistance. Finishes: polished, AP (annealed & pickled), BA (bright annealed), MF. Ends: plain or beveled. Additional processing: drawing to size, bending, machining, hydrostatic testing.
4. Standards and Certification
Seamless tube is supplied to ASTM B861 (or GB/T 3624); welded tube to ASTM B862 (or GB/T 3625 for heat-exchanger service). Each lot is delivered with a mill test certificate (EN 10204/3.1) covering chemical analysis, tensile results and, where required, hydrostatic or non-destructive examination. Marking: standard, grade, OD, wall, length, heat number.
5. Applications (Tube-Specific)
- Aerospace: hydraulic and pneumatic tubing, instrument lines, structural ducts and bleed-air lines.
- Heat exchangers: tube bundles for marine, chemical and power service where seawater and chloride resistance matter.
- Marine & petrochemical: corrosion-resistant piping, deep-sea riser components and chemical-process lines.
- Medical: instrument tubing and implant-adjacent components (with ELI grade 23 for implant service).
- Automotive: lightweight exhaust and structural tubing where corrosion and weight justify cost.
