Titanium Pipe Grade 6
Grade 6 Titanium, which is also known as Ti-5Al-2.5Sn, has high service temperature of 480°C (896°F), medium strength, and excellent weldability and fabricability. Ti-5Al-2.5Sn alloy has good oxidation resistance and microstructure stability.
Description
Grade 6 alloy is a medium-strength α-type titanium alloy (Ti-5Al-2.5Sn). It cannot be heat-treated and strengthened. It is usually used in the annealed state and has good fracture toughness at room temperature and high temperature. The alloy has good fusion welding performance and is suitable for tungsten electrode and metal electrode fusion welding processes under inert gas protection. It can be used to manufacture parts such as casings and wall panels. The long-term working temperature of the alloy can reach 500°C and the short-term working temperature can reach 800°C. TA7ELI alloy with low interstitial impurity elements is suitable for use at low temperatures. The semi-finished products produced include plates, bars and rings, etc., and can also be used to produce castings.
