What Grade 1 Seamless Titanium Piping Is
Grade 1 is the first and softest of the four commercially pure (CP) titanium grades. It offers maximum formability, excellent corrosion resistance and high impact toughness - the reference choice wherever easy forming is required, supplied as seamless pipe and tube.

Oxygen is the main strengthening element in CP titanium; Grade 1's low oxygen ceiling keeps it soft and formable.
Standards and Range (Corrected)
ASTM B861 (seamless pipe), B338 (heat exchanger tube), B862 (welded pipe); ASME SB861/SB338/SB862.
Tubes range: 1 mm OD to 254 mm OD; wall 0.1-20 mm.
Key Properties
Corrosion resistance: outstanding in chlorides, sulfuric acid, nitric acid and many alkaline media; in strong-alkali service its resistance can exceed that of stainless steel (environment-dependent).
Weldability: excellent - welds to other titanium materials with strong, sealed joints.
Toughness and ductility: bends, flares and expands without cracking.
Biocompatibility: suitable for medical devices.
Strength: moderate - it is the softest CP grade; select Grade 2 or 3 for higher strength.

Welding: full inert-gas shielding on both sides, clean surfaces, low heat input; titanium embrittles if contaminated above ~400°C.
Severe forming: use the annealed condition.
