Gr4 Titanium Straight Tubing (CP-4)
Grade 4 titanium (UNS R50700) is the highest-strength grade among commercially pure (CP) titanium materials. It is essentially unalloyed titanium - strengthened by controlled interstitial elements, chiefly oxygen - and offers an excellent combination of strength, toughness, corrosion resistance and weldability for industrial tubing applications.

Gr4 contains no intentional alloying elements such as aluminium, chromium or molybdenum - those belong to alloyed titanium grades. Its higher strength (relative to Gr1–Gr3) comes from the oxygen and iron content held within specification.

3. Corrosion Resistance and Fabrication
Gr4 provides outstanding corrosion resistance in seawater, chlorides, alkalis and oxidising acids. It has the highest strength and wear resistance of the CP grades but lower formability than Gr1/Gr2; it can still be cold bent and welded when correct procedures are used - inert-gas shielding (GTAW/TIG under argon) and strict cleanliness are required because molten titanium reacts with oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen.

Chemical processing: heat-exchanger tubing, condensers and process piping.
Marine engineering: seawater piping, offshore structures and desalination equipment.
Medical: surgical instruments and non-load-bearing implant components.
Industrial: fasteners, pump and valve components, wear-resistant parts.

6. Sourcing Notes
