Grade 5 titanium alloys have excellent corrosion resistance and are capable of long term stability in harsh environmental conditions, such as marine environments and chemically corrosive environments. Although airframe components are usually not subjected to the same extremely high temperatures as engine components, the good performance of Ti-6Al-4V at medium temperatures still provides an additional advantage.
