Round Titanium Wire Grade 1
Grade 1 titanium is the first of four industrially pure titanium grades. It is the softest and most ductile of these grades. It has maximum formability, excellent corrosion resistance and high impact toughness. Grade TA1 is the material of choice for any application that requires easy formability and is typically available as titanium plate and titanium tubing.
Description
What is GR1 titanium?
Commercially Pure Titanium Grade 1 is one of the softest and most ductile grades exhibiting the greatest formability. This unalloyed titanium has excellent corrosion resistance property, excellent weldability and is used in a wide variety of applications. This grade material is mainly used in marine and chemical industries where the parts are subjected to very harsh environments. This material is also used for fabricating anodes for cathodic protection applications.

FAQ
Q: What is the main difference between GR1 and other commercial pure titanium grades (like GR2)?
A: GR1 has the lowest oxygen and iron content, making it the most ductile (formable) and the softest among pure titanium grades. It offers superior cold formability and slightly better corrosion resistance but lower strength compared to GR2.
Q: Does GR1 Titanium experience galvanic corrosion when joined to other metals?
A: Yes, it can. Titanium is cathodic (noble) to most common metals. Direct contact in an electrolyte (like seawater) can accelerate corrosion of the less noble metal (e.g., aluminum, steel). Insulation (gaskets, coatings) is required to prevent this.
Q: Is GR1 Titanium safe for medical implants and food contact?
A: Yes. Its excellent biocompatibility makes it suitable for permanent implants (ASTM F67). Its non-toxic and corrosion-resistant properties also make it suitable for food processing equipment, provided proper surface finishes and cleaning protocols are used.
Q: Why is GR1 Titanium more expensive than stainless steel?
A: The cost is higher due to: 1) The complex, energy-intensive Kroll process required to extract titanium metal from ore. 2) The challenges in melting and processing the reactive metal in a vacuum or inert atmosphere. 3) Higher machining costs due to its difficult machinability. The cost is justified where its unique properties (strength-to-weight, corrosion resistance) are essential.

We focus on the customized production of high-end precision titanium materials, with a core Class 10,000 cleanroom environment dedicated to serving the medical, aerospace, and semiconductor industries. Our production lines are configured with Swiss precision slitting machines, Japanese high-precision cold rolling mills, and German 5-axis machining centers, capable of producing ultra-thin titanium strips with thickness tolerances of ±0.01mm, seamless titanium tubes with mirror-finish inner walls, and medical-grade titanium wire meeting implant standards. All processes are completed in a controlled temperature and humidity environment, supported by coordinate measuring machines, metallographic analysis systems, and ICP mass spectrometers, ensuring dual control over microstructural and macroscopic properties.

Titanium product packaging
Our standard packaging protocol includes multiple protective layers tailored to the specific product form and customer requirements. All materials are first cleaned, dried, and wrapped with VCI (Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor) paper or PE film to prevent oxidation and surface contamination. Products are then securely bundled and cushioned with waterproof corrugated paper and edge protectors. Finished bundles are placed in plywood crates, heavy-duty cardboard boxes, or sealed in moisture-proof PVC film on pallets, with clear, durable labeling for handling and identification. For international sea freight, we offer IPPC-certified fumigation wooden cases or seaworthy export crates, ensuring your order arrives safely and in ready-to-use condition, no matter the destination.
