Turning Process for Shaft Parts

Simple shafts are completed on CNC lathes through rough turning, semi-finishing and finishing, with key diameters controlled to ±0.01 mm. Complex shafts - for example drive shafts with keyways and splines - combine turning and milling in a single setup so that re-positioning errors are avoided. Slender shafts are machined with a steady rest or a follower rest to prevent deflection, and hardened-steel shafts receive grinding as the final operation.

 

Ultra-Precision Spindle Machining

High-end spindles and lead screws for semiconductors and precision machinery demand more than tight dimensions. Our process chain - turning, heat treatment, fine grinding and polishing - runs in a temperature-controlled environment (20 ± 1 °C) with vibration isolation. Online measurement systems compensate for thermal deformation in real time, holding roundness to ≤ 0.5 µm and form accuracy at the nanometre level.

Materials We Turn

Shaft parts are machined from carbon and alloy steels (1045, 4140, 4340, 8620), stainless steels, tool steels and hardened steels, with grinding or polishing where the design requires it. If your application specifies another material, we will confirm machinability and delivery with you before production.
