How to Detect the Hardness of Precision Metal Stamping Parts?

The materials used for stamping processing are primarily hot-rolled or cold-rolled (mainly cold-rolled) metal sheet and strip materials, such as alloy steel plates, carbon steel plates, spring steel plates, galvanized sheets, tin-plated sheets, stainless steel plates, copper and copper alloy plates, aluminum and aluminum alloy plates, etc.
Alloy stamping parts are the most commonly used components in metal processing and mechanical manufacturing. Stamping processing utilizes molds to separate or form metal sheets and strips. The main purpose of hardness testing for metal stamping materials is to determine whether the annealing degree of the purchased metal sheets is suitable for the subsequent precision stamping processing. Different types of stamping processes require sheets with different hardness levels.
Aluminum alloy sheets used for stamping processing can be tested using a Webster hardness tester. For material thickness greater than 13 mm, a Barcol hardness tester can be used instead. Pure aluminum sheets or low-hardness aluminum alloy sheets should be tested with a Barcol hardness tester.
Reasons for Dimensional Defects in Metal Stamping Parts:
Dimensional defects caused by poor mold design or processing and assembly issues. This situation generally occurs during the first production run.
Incorrect adjustment of mold height during setup, preventing the mold from fully engaging during stamping, leading to dimensional inaccuracies. Alternatively, failure to lock the mold head after adjustment may cause the mold height to shift during stamping.
Improper placement during positioning or double-striking, which increases mold clearance and results in dimensional defects.
Loose mold positioning, causing misalignment during stamping and resulting in dimensional inaccuracies.
