Most of China's molybdenum mine production of molybdenum concentrate main element molybdenum content is low, high impurities. In addition to a few molybdenum concentrate grade is higher, most of the molybdenum concentrate contains Mo in 45% ~ 47%. Compared with the molybdenum concentrates produced in the USA and Chile, the content of the main element is lower by 3 to 7 percentage points. The reason for this is that since the 1950s, the standards for molybdenum concentrates have been based on those of the former Soviet Union. Although the quality of molybdenum concentrate is not high, it meets the current national standards. The reason for the large gap between the quality of molybdenum concentrates and that of foreign industrially developed countries is that, in addition to the low implementation standards, from the point of view of the beneficiation process, molybdenum concentrates in China contain high levels of lead. The main reason for this is that in the process of pyromolybdenite beneficiation, especially in the concentrating operation, no agents for inhibiting lead minerals are used. The molybdenum concentrate contains less than 54 % molybdenum, which is mainly related to the beneficiation process. The main reason is that the number of regrinding sections of the coarse concentrate is too small. Most of the domestic beneficiation process using a section of regrinding, while foreign molybdenum processing plant more than two or even three sections of regrinding. A regrinding beneficiation process, due to the low dissociation degree of molybdenite monomer, also led to the molybdenum concentrate with high lead.
