ASTM B386 & B387 Type1 Molybdenum Bar

Molybdenum has a high melting point and low vapor pressure. Due to its high melting point, it has a very low creep rate at typical furnace temperatures. The thermal expansion characteristics of molybdenum are about one-third those of stainless steel.

Description

Molybdenum rods retain their strength and creep resistance at elevated temperatures, making them an excellent material choice for industrial vacuum furnace heating elements, racks and hardware. The maximum operating temperature of molybdenum is approximately 1900°C. At higher temperatures, tungsten is recommended. Molybdenum's excellent high temperature properties and its resistance to aggressive glass melts make it a suitable material for electrodes in glass melting applications and for molten glass stirrers.
