Description
Molybdenum ASTM B387 Type 361 is a commercially pure grade containing 99.9% molybdenum. Trace amounts of potassium, aluminium, silicon, iron, nickel, copper, chromium, sodium and tungsten enhance the properties of the metal. The melting point of this grade is 2610 degrees Celsius. 364/ 365 grade round bar is another specific grade of molybdenum bar. These bars have a minimum tensile strength of 580 MPa and a minimum yield strength of 350 MPa.

Pure molybdenum rods are used as anode material in low pressure X-ray applications. In these cases, molybdenum is used instead of tungsten. Different grades have different compositions and different use cases. ASME SA387 molybdenum round bar has a composition of more than 99.95 per cent molybdenum. The material's high melting point is second only to tungsten and titanium, making it one of the most commercially available products for high-temperature operations.
