Chinese Client Visits GNEE And Signs GR12 Titanium Plate Order

This week, we welcomed a delegation from a renowned domestic chemical equipment manufacturing group. This visit signifies that while serving global clients, GNEE is also fully supporting the upgrading of China's high-end manufacturing industry with international-grade quality and technical standards. After rigorous technical demonstrations and production evaluations, both parties officially signed an annual framework procurement agreement for GR12 titanium plates (Ti-0.3Mo-0.8Ni).

The client had a clear objective for this visit: to find the most reliable corrosion-resistant material solution for the core components of the large-scale PTA (Purified Terephthalic Acid) oxidation reactor they are constructing. The entire audit focused on "long-term safety under extreme working conditions":

On-Site Verification of Corrosion Resistance: The client's experts thoroughly inspected our high-temperature corrosion laboratory, reviewing corrosion data curves of GR12 in high-temperature acetic acid and chloride-containing media, and comparing them with traditional materials.

Traceability of the Entire Production Process: From specialized alloy ingredient mixing and EBT electric arc furnace melting to controlled atmosphere hot rolling and solution treatment, the client meticulously tracked every key process control point ensuring the stable performance of the GR12 material.

Evaluation of Extreme Manufacturing Capabilities: The client paid particular attention to our rolling capacity and residual stress control technology for extra-wide and heavy-gauge titanium plates, which are fundamental to ensuring the structural stability of their large vessel welds.

During the technical seminar, both parties delved into the applicability of GR12 titanium plates for this specific project:
In complex media containing chlorides and weakly oxidizing acids, the performance of GR12 is significantly superior to that of industrial pure titanium, making it perfectly suited for PTA plant conditions. While ensuring corrosion resistance, its cold and hot working properties outperform many highly alloyed materials, reducing the client's process complexity and costs for manufacturing large, complex structural components. Although the initial material cost is higher, its exceptionally long maintenance-free lifespan and safety offer the client substantial overall economic benefits.

This signing not only involves a procurement contract but also includes a joint R&D memorandum:

Product Customization: The first batch of orders will supply GR12 titanium plates of specific thicknesses for manufacturing critical heads and internal components, all accompanied by material traceability codes.

Service Enhancement: Our company will establish a dedicated service team to provide comprehensive support, from material pretreatment recommendations and welding procedure qualifications to on-site technical assistance.

Joint R&D: Both parties have agreed to establish a "Material Data Sharing Platform" to collaboratively conduct research on material applications for even more extreme process conditions in the future.
