Do You Understand Titanium, Titanium Alloy, Pure Titanium? It's Important To Distinguish Between The Concepts!
Jan 15, 2024
There is no professional, accurate definition of titanium. Some people refer to metallic titanium and titanium alloys simply as titanium gold, but this concept is not accurate. There is a sodium nitride crystals, especially vacuum coated titanium nitride (also known as PVD process), with a golden metallic luster, more often than not, titanium refers exclusively to titanium nitride coating. Most companies intentionally confuse the concept of titanium or titanium alloy and titanium nitride in the name of titanium for marketing purposes, but titanium and titanium nitride are two completely different concepts, like titanium dioxide used as a whitening agent, not a metal.

Titanium alloy is an alloy material composed of titanium with other strengthening elements such as aluminum, nickel, chromium, copper, etc. to obtain higher strength, corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance. Titanium alloy is currently the most widely used titanium material, which has been widely used in aviation materials, oil extraction, food sports, medical field and so on.
Since the processing performance of pure titanium is better than alloy, some products with high requirements on material molding performance are mainly made of pure titanium, such as pots, bowls, cups and jugs.
Therefore, the concept of titanium, titanium alloy and pure titanium are different, and their respective scope of application is different, can not be generalized, it is important to distinguish the concept!
