Niobium and niobium alloys have good resistance to corrosion by molten alkali metals, small thermal neutron absorption cross section of atoms (1.1 target en), good compatibility with nuclear fuel, and can be used as materials for atomic energy reactors. Niobium-titanium alloys (such as Nb-50Ti), Nb3Sn compounds, etc. have excellent superconducting properties and are practical superconducting materials. Niobium-titanium and niobium-zirconium system of certain alloys with good constant elasticity and non-ferromagnetic, corrosion-resistant and other comprehensive performance, can make special-purpose elastic components. Niobium and some niobium alloys have excellent corrosion resistance in most chemical media, the cost is cheaper than tantalum, can be used as a chemical industry, textiles and other sectors of the corrosion-resistant parts.
