Titanium is used in the manufacture of special steels, alloys, titanium ceramics and glass fibers. Titanium metal is also used in the manufacture of airplanes and missiles and in atomic reactors. It is also used in the production of refractory materials, welding rods, construction materials and plastics. The above industries can be exposed to titanium metal, titanium dioxide dust and fumes.
