Where Is Gr2 Titanium Used?

Apr 12, 2024

Chemical industry:gr2 titanium has good stability in a variety of acids, alkalis and salt media, except for the four inorganic acids mentioned above and highly corrosive aluminum chloride. Therefore, titanium is an excellent corrosion-resistant material in the chemical industry, and has been more and more widely used. For example, in the chlor-alkali industry, the use of titanium anode and titanium wet chlorine cooler, received good economic results, known as the chlor-alkali industry in a major revolution.

Petroleum industry: titanium in organic compounds, in addition to higher temperatures under the five organic acids (formic acid, acetic acid, oxalic acid, trichloroacetic acid and trifluoroacetic acid), have very good stability. Therefore, titanium is an excellent structural material in petroleum refining and petrochemical industry, and can be used to make various heat exchangers, reactors, high-pressure vessels and distillation towers.

Metallurgical industry: Titanium is an active metal, with good gas absorption properties, is an excellent degassing agent in the steelmaking industry, it can synthesize steel in the cooling of the precipitation of oxygen and nitrogen. Adding a small amount of titanium (<0.1%) to steel can make steel tough and elastic. Titanium is also an important alloy additive in the steelmaking and aluminum industries. Titanium is superconducting and is a common superconducting material.
