The zirconium compound production method of producing zirconium chloride by alkaline decomposition of zircon concentrate or hydrolysis of zirconium tetrachloride. Zirconium chloride is an important intermediate product for the preparation of zirconium compounds, and can be used as a metal surface treatment agent and catalyst, which is mainly produced by alkaline decomposition of zirconium concentrate in the industry. The whole process includes alkali decomposition, zirconium chloride solution preparation and zirconium chloride crystal precipitation.
Alkali decomposition of zircon concentrate alkali decomposition has three methods, namely, sodium hydroxide fusion method, sodium carbonate sintering method and lime sintering method.



Chloride zirconium oxide solution preparation After zircon is decomposed with alkali, it is washed with water to remove silica and other impurities, and then hydrochloric acid is used to leach the water wash material to produce chlorine zirconium oxide solution. Leaching, leaching solution of HCl content is generally controlled in 2.5 ~ 3.5 mol / L, ZrO2 in 60 ~ 80g / L hydrochloric acid and zirconium in the wash material to generate zirconium chloride oxides into the solution, while into the solution there are iron, titanium and other impurities, while the silicon is born into the colloidal silicic acid precipitation, the cohesion of silicic acid, which affects the filtration of the leached material. Using high temperature leaching and adding coagulant method is conducive to the cohesion of silicic acid, easy to filter the leach material and clear steep filtrate. Dissolve zirconium hydroxide with hydrochloric acid or dissolve zirconium tetrachloride in water can also get zirconium chloride solution.
