Description
Typical of most nickel-chromium alloys, Incoloy 800 has excellent mechanical properties, and its corrosion resistance exceeds that of many stainless steel alloys.GNEE manufactures these components in accordance with ASTM B163. According to this specification, these tubes are suitable for heat exchangers and condensers. The primary function of condensers in industry is to condense gaseous gases into liquid form. Condensation is a process that takes place through cooling. Components such as steel tubing are susceptible to carburisation when exposed to high temperatures.
Products Description
The use of ASTM B163 UNS N08800 as a condenser or heat exchanger component is justified because this alloy can withstand high temperature environments. Conventional steel alloys fail under high temperature and pressure conditions. This means that the mechanical properties of ordinary alloys, including toughness, ductility and resistance to cracking, are severely degraded, eventually leading to intergranular corrosion. However, this is not the case with W.Nr. 1.4876 tubing. The high nickel content of Alloy 800 tubing makes it very resilient and does not become brittle due to precipitation of the σ phase. The heat-resistant properties of nickel make seamless Incoloy 800 tubes a unique material for industries such as steam power plants or chemical processing plants (e.g., distilleries), although they are slightly more expensive than welded tubes.
