The ASTM B165 (identical to ASME SB-165) is the standard specification covering nickel-copper alloy Monel 400 (UNS N04400) in the form of cold-worked seamless pipe and tube. Metals-Piping supplies Monel 400 seamless pipes sized from 2″ to 16″ covering nominal wall thicknesses of SCH10, SCH20, SCH40, SCH80, XS and STD.
Products Description
Monel 400 is a solid solution alloy with excellent resistance to the marine environment. This alloy can only be strengthened by cold working. Cold-worked alloy 400 tubing produced to ASTM B165 specifications is available in seamless or welded construction. Nickel-based ASME SB 165 UNS N04400 has a low corrosion rate in fast-flowing brackish/seawater or seawater and high-temperature steam. In the presence of corrosive solutions, Monel tubes are amazingly tough. In addition, due to its excellent corrosion resistance, this alloy grade is ideally suited for applications in a wide range of fresh water sources. As a result, Monel 400 tubing can be used in chemical processing and marine environments.
