ASTM B167 Nickel Alloy Seamless Pipe
ASTM B167 is a very commonly used standard for seamless nickel alloy tubes and pipes. This standard specifies the chemical composition, mechanical properties, and various requirements applicable to seamless tubing for different nickel alloy materials.
Description
ASTM B167 contains commonly used nickel-chromium alloys. When further subdivided, these materials are classified as nickel-chromium-iron alloys (Inconel 600, 601, 602CA, 690, 693, etc.), nickel-chromium-cobalt-molybdenum alloys (Inconel 617), and nickel-iron-chromium-tungsten alloys (UNS N06674).
Products Description
A typical product in ASTM B167 is seamless tubing. It is a tubular material. Seamless pipe and tubing is usually cold rolled or cold drawn. It has no welded seams. Therefore its sealing performance and pressure resistance are far ahead of the former. However, the production process of seamless pipe is more complicated, the production cost is higher and the cycle time is longer. Therefore, when actually choosing the material, you can choose whether to use seamless pipe according to your needs.
