Description

What Is ASTM B862?

ASTM B862 is the standard specification for welded titanium and titanium alloy pipe intended for general corrosion resisting and elevated temperature service. It is the welded counterpart to ASTM B861 (seamless pipe) and is technically equivalent to ASME SB-862, making it suitable for both industrial and pressure vessel code applications.

While ASTM B338 covers welded tubing for condensers and heat exchangers (typically smaller diameters), ASTM B862 covers welded pipe-including larger diameters up to and exceeding 24 inches NPS-designed for piping systems, process lines, and structural applications.
