Ti6Al-4V, Titanium Gr5 alloy (UNS R56400) is the most widely used titanium alloy. alpha is a two-phase alpha + beta titanium alloy containing vanadium as a stabilizer and aluminum as a beta stabilizer. This high-strength alloy can be used in temperatures from 427°C (800°F) to freezing cold.
Ti 6Al-4V, a titanium Gr5 alloy, is in the annealed condition and solid solution hardened and aged. The alloy is produced by - remelting using vacuum (VAR), electron beam (EB), or plasma arc furnace melting (PAM). Remelting is carried out by one or two vacuum arc steps.
