What Is AMS 4901?
AMS 4901 is the Aerospace Material Specification for commercially pure titanium sheet, strip, and plate - specifically Grade 2 (UNS R50400) . It is the aerospace industry's equivalent to ASTM B265 Grade 2, but with tighter controls on chemistry, mechanical properties, and inspection requirements demanded by aircraft and defense applications.
AMS 4901 covers annealed condition only and is intended for airframe structures, engine components, cryogenic systems, and corrosion-resistant applications where formability, weldability, and predictable performance are critical.
This specification covers one grade of commercially pure titanium sheet, strip, and plate with a nominal thickness of 1.000 inches (25.40 mm) and less.
This material is typically used for parts requiring strength up to 400 °F (204 °C) and oxidation resistance up to 600 °F (316 °C), but use is not limited to such applications.

Our non-destructive testing laboratory is equipped with advanced multi-coil eddy current testers and immersion ultrasonic scanning systems, enabling 100% inspection compliance with ASTM, ASME, AMS, and MIL standards. All products are supplied with full traceability and certified mill test reports, and our quality management system is ISO 9001 certified.
