The ATI 8-1-1™ alloy (UNS R54810) is a near alpha alloy where aluminum acts as the alpha stabilizer. The additions of Mo, V, and Fe lead to small amounts of beta. Primarily intended for use at elevated temperatures, this alloy has good creep strength and excellent weldability. It also has the lowest density among all titanium-base alloys. The ATI 8-1-1™ alloy is utilized in the annealed condition. Special duplex annealing procedures have been developed for thick sections like bars and forgings. Typical applications include airframe and jet engine parts that demand high strength, superior creep strength, a favorable stiffness-to-density ratio, and toughness.
