Description
Ti 8-1-1 belongs to a near-α alloy. It uses aluminum as an α stabilizer and adds Mo, V, and Fe to form a small amount of β phase. Ti 8-1-1 can exhibit creep resistance at working temperatures up to 450°C (842°F). Among all titanium alloys, Ti 8-1-1 has the highest modulus and the lowest density. It is not only known for its high strength and creep resistance but also renowned for its good stiffness-to-density ratio and toughness. It is usually applied in (but not limited to) various jet engine applications, such as forged compressor blades and discs.
