AMS refers to Aerospace Material Specifications, which covers materials and processing standards used in the aerospace field. The material of GNEE's AMS 4965 Titanium is 6-4 Titanium, which is also known as 6Al-4V Titanium.
Ti-6Al-4V is the most common α-β titanium alloy, which is composed of 90% titanium, 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium. Aluminum, as an α-phase stabilizer, can improve the high-temperature strength of the alloy, while vanadium, as a β-phase stabilizer, can improve the toughness and machinability of the alloy. This dual-phase structure gives Ti-6Al-4V excellent mechanical properties at both room temperature and high temperature.
