Astm B348 Titanium Bar
The density of titanium alloys is only 60% of that of steel, which is close to that of ordinary steel. High strength titanium alloys also exceed the strength of many alloy structural steels.
Description
This specification covers annealed bars and grids made from titanium or its alloys. All material grades covered shall meet the required chemical composition requirements. Elements intentionally added to the melt shall be identified, analyzed and reported in the chemical analysis. Samples for tensile testing shall be machined and tensile properties determined by yield strength using specified strain rates and at increasing rates. Each annealed material may be de-oxidized, sandblasted, ground, or rough turned.
