Grade 12 titanium is similar to Grade 2 and Grade 3 titanium, except that Grade 12 has added molybdenum and nickel. these additional materials in Grade 12 provide a lower cost alternative to palladium bearing grades. grade 12 has high strength, good heat and wear resistance, and is highly weldable. grade 12 is used in chemical processing, power generation, desalination, marine hydrocarbon processing, and mining.
Description
Grade 12 Titanium (UNS R53400) is lightly alloyed near-alpha alloy offering improved strength at elevated temperatures and optimum ASME Code design allowables. The material is readily weldable, and has superior crevice corrosion resistance. This material is very corrosion resistant in highly oxidizing and mildly reducing environments.

Grade 12 titanium is a titanium alloy containing Ni, Pd, and Mo that provides excellent corrosion resistance and higher strength than Grade 2 titanium.Titanium Gr.12 has excellent resistance to acid corrosion and very good resistance to crevice corrosion in hot brines. Because of its higher strength, Titanium Gr.12 can be used with thinner wall thicknesses than Titanium Gr.2 or Titanium Gr.7 under the same conditions.
