Description
Grade 9 titanium wire is manufactured from Ti-3Al-2.5V alloy (UNS R56320), a medium-strength α-β titanium alloy that combines excellent strength, formability, and weldability. The properties of Grade 9 titanium wire fall between those of commercially pure titanium and high-strength Ti-6Al-4V alloy, offering approximately 50% higher strength than Grade 2 titanium wire while maintaining superior ductility and cold formability compared to Grade 5 titanium wire. This unique combination makes it a common material for aerospace hydraulic lines, sporting goods, marine components, and various industrial applications requiring both strength and formability.
