Performance Characteristics of Grade 7 Titanium Alloy
Excellent Corrosion Resistance: Grade 7 titanium alloy (Ti-Pd alloy) exhibits outstanding corrosion resistance in oxidizing media. It also demonstrates considerable corrosion resistance in reducing environments and is particularly suitable for improving resistance to crevice corrosion in media with high chloride ion concentrations. High Quality Titanium Grade 7 Square Tube contains 0.2% palladium. In boiling 5% sulfuric acid, the use of Titanium Grade 7 Capillary Tube reduces the corrosion rate from 48.26 mm/a (commercial pure titanium) to 0.508 mm/a, improving corrosion resistance by approximately 95 times.
Enhanced Resistance to Crevice Corrosion: It is especially suitable for environments with high chloride ion concentrations, significantly improving resistance to crevice corrosion.
Good High-Temperature Performance: It maintains stable performance in high-temperature environments and possesses certain heat resistance.
High Strength: It boasts high strength and excellent mechanical properties, making it suitable for applications requiring high strength.
Lightweight: Compared to other metals, titanium alloy has a low density, making it an ideal choice for lightweight designs.

Welding of Grade 7 Titanium Tubing for Bicycle Manufacturing
For welding Grade 7 titanium alloy, the TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding method is recommended. During welding, the welding pool and the heat-affected zone with temperatures exceeding 400°C must be protected to prevent contamination by atmospheric gases. For cylindrical workpieces, upper and lower protective boxes can be used to provide argon gas shielding. Additionally, the welding groove surface must be thoroughly cleaned before welding.
