Characteristics
Tantalum deposits are small in scale, with low ore grade, fine and scattered embedded grain size, and multi-metal accompaniment, resulting in difficult to mine, difficult to separate, difficult to select, and low recovery rate; the endowment state is poor, and there are fewer mines with large-scale open pit mining. There is no independent niobium mine in China, and niobium is often associated with rare earths and tantalum.
Reserves The minimum industrial grade index for calculating the reserves of tantalum-niobium deposits in China is (Ta, Nb)205 0.016-0.028%, and most of the tantalum-niobium deposits in China have grades close to or slightly higher than the minimum industrial grade index.There is almost no Ta205 grade over 0.02%, and there are only a few carbonate type deposits with Nb205 grade over 0.1%, and other types of deposits have Nb205 grade over 0.02%. Nb205 grade is around 0.02% for all other types of deposits.
Tantalum and niobium reserves data show that China's tantalum (Ta205) reserves and basic reserves in the number is still very large, but China's tantalum resources Ta205 grade is almost no more than 0.02%, obviously with such a low grade set out of the "reserves" and foreign high-grade calculation of reserves is difficult to be comparable. Niobium is also the same.
Yichun tantalum and niobium mine is located in Yuanzhou District, South East Xinfang Township, 25 kilometers from Yichun City, the transportation is very convenient. The mine is a mega deposit containing tantalum, niobium, lithium, beryllium, rubidium and cesium of many rare metals, and is also an important rare earth dispersed element mineral resource base in China.
